Sir Erasmus Wilson published over twenty works in his lifetime, mostly on subjects related to medicine and anatomy, but also including a few on archaeology and Egyptology. He is considered one of the first English specialists on skin diseases. This work is an American edition of the British author’s comprehensive anatomy book, edited by Paul B. Goddard, a “demonstrator of anatomy” at the University of Pennsylvania.
