Wilson dedicated this work to Philippe Ricord (see No. 1621 ff.) whom he praised for his vision and genius. In addition to a comprehensive discussion of the three stages of syphilis, Wilson considers in detail the wide variety of treatment modalities then being employed and presents eighty-five case histories of syphilitic patients.
