Although this edition is similar in most respects to the 1568 edition, a new, finely-engraved title page filled with anatomical scenes as well as an additional series of anatomical tables were added to the book. The anatomical tables--Universa antiquorum anatome--were edited by Fabius Paulinus (fl. 1600) and have their own title page containing the date and privilege missing from the title page of Anatomia. The unillustrated tables are from the works of Rufus of Ephesus (see No. 35) and Soranus of Ephesus (see No. 34). Rufus was a skilled anatomist and his tables delineate the bones and other external and internal parts of the human body. Soranus was a leading gynecologist and obstetrician and his table is of the uterus.
