Ricord's Traité complet des maladies vénériennes was first published at Paris in 1851. The following year it was translated into English by Betton (see No. 1455). The editor, Goddard (see No. 1760 ff.), has added a formulary of the remedies recommended by Ricord and, to supplement the work, had his colleague and friend Betton prepare an extensive chronological bibliography of syphilis and a comprehensive history of the disease. Four of the carefully prepared colored plates are missing from this copy.
