Moreau was physician to the Maternité for the greater part of his career and also served as obstetrician to the princesses of the Orleans family. His textbook has here been translated by the Philadelphia physician Thomas Forrest Betton (1809-1875), and edited by Goddard (see No. 1760). The plates were redrawn by S. Cichowski and lithographed by P. S. Duval of Philadelphia.
