Velpeau's Petit traité des maladies du sein was first published at Paris in 1838. It has here been translated by Samuel Parkman (1816-1854), a fellow of the Massachusetts Medical Society, and is included in a volume of Dunglison's American medical library. Velpeau followed this work in 1854 (see No. 1530) with a more comprehensive and widely recognized book on the same subject.
