Complete Record - Heirs of Hippocrates No. 1589

SIR ROBERT CHRISTISON (1797-1882) On granular degeneration of the kidneys. A. Waldie 1839 viii, 146 pp. 22 cm.

For more information on this author or work, see number: 1588

One of Christison's purposes in writing this treatise was to more fully acquaint the medical community with the importance of Bright's work (see No. 1451 ff.) on the kidney. Christison was very conscious of the value of Bright's contributions and felt that the incidence of kidney degeneration in dropsy was so high that it should be made widely known to medical practitioners. The book was first published at Edinburgh in 1839 and is here appearing as part of Dunglison's American medical library.
