These volumes were intended to accompany Baillie's Morbid anatomy (see No. 1176). The plates were drawn by William Clift, who became the first curator of the Hunterian Museum, founded by Baillie's uncle, John Hunter, at the Royal College of Surgeons (see Nos. 974 and 976).
