HERMANN BOERHAAVE (1668-1738) Sermo academicus de chemia suos errores expurgante. Sumptibus Petri Vander Aa 1718 [4] 42 pp.
For more information on this author or work, see number: 739
When the professor of chemistry, Jacobus Lemort, died in 1718, the university asked Boerhaave to take Lemort's professorship. It was logical for Boerhaave to do so because he had been giving private lectures on chemistry for many years. Boerhaave responded by giving this oration on the state of progress in chemistry.
