This book is one of the earliest English translations of Libellus de materie medica--Boerhaave's popular collection of prescriptions. It was translated from a later Latin edition edited by Samuel Du Ry. Unlike many of the spurious editions then being published, this one was far more accurate because many of the earlier Latin editions had been edited by Boerhaave.
