The first edition of this rare work on bloodletting was written ten to fifteen years earlier than this second edition. Massa recommends experience as a guide in bloodletting and cautions against relying on authority alone. An index at the beginning of the book gives references to diseases for which bloodletting was prescribed. A useful set of canons to be observed completes the book.
