Massa has added much new material to this third edition including additional information on the use and efficacy of guaiac (see No. 164) as well as its success in effecting cures for individuals suffering from syphilis. He also discusses the uses of the China root (see No. 296) in syphilis as well as methods to prevent the loss of hair and teeth.
