Cazenave's name is particularly associated with lupus erythematosus and with pemphigus foliaceus. Although the term lupus erythematosus was not used by Cazenave until the early 1850s, he and Schedel discuss the malady in some detail in their textbook. This third edition includes eight finely colored plates of various skin diseases.
