‘A rare early work on Embryology’. A very rare work on generation and embryology. Jacopo da Forli (also called Jacobus Foroliviensis, Jacques Despars [de Partibus] of Tournay, and Giacomo delle Torre of Forli) was a leading member of the Paduan school of medicine, noted as being the chief representative of the Arab school. Among his publications were commentaries on the first and fourth Canons of Avicenna, which became standard texts. Other authors upon which he commented include Dinus de Garbo, Hippocrates, Bassianus Politus, and Tommaso del Garbo. This work was edited by Bassianus Politus.
