Baudelocque's work was first published in Paris in 1781 under the title: L'art des accouchemens. The translation by John Heath was most likely made from the revised edition of 1789 and was published in London in 1790 as A system of midwifery. This 1811 edition was apparently reprinted from the 1807 edition (No. 1063).
