Tarin, a French anatomist, is better known for his Dictionnaire anatomique (1753) and his description of many anatomical structures in the brain. This atlas of the skeletal system of the fetus and adult contains many excellent detailed folding plates. Several of these plates were taken from the anatomical atlases of Albinus (see No. 829 ff.). Following a lengthy introduction to the study of human anatomy in French, the remainder of the text is presented in Latin and French on opposite pages.
