Tzu-ming Ch'en was a prominent physician of the Sung Dynasty and is best known for his work in gynecology. This work was not published in China until the middle of the sixteenth century during the Ming Dynasty. It was reprinted in Japan during the 1950s as a major contribution to the history of Sino-Japanese medicine. The present work is Ch'en's second known work. It deals with the treatment of neoplasms, which were treated chiefly with moxibustion.
