The first English translation of Haller's Primae lineae physiologiae was made at Edinburgh in 1779 by an unknown translator whose name does not appear in any editions of the book. The present translation was made from the third Latin edition and includes a translation of the index which was reviewed by Cullen (see No. 901 ff.).
