Walther, a physician of Liegnitz, a city in southern Germany, is known chiefly for this large dictionary. The volume lists diseases in alphabetical order, with extensive references to the printed literature on diseases of both a medical and surgical nature. There is a lengthy index for the authors referred to and the diseases discussed. Long sections are devoted to dentistry and cardiac pathology, including ventricular "anguish."
