The Dispensatory continued in its modernized form until 1782 when it ended with the present edition. However, the work had earlier been revised and improved by William Lewis in 1753 and issued as Lewis' New dispensatory (see No. 925), so Quincy's work was not concluded but continued under Lewis' guidance.
