This is a later edition (probably second) of an important work first published at Rome in 1728. Lancisi here classifies various cardiac diseases, gives a detailed description of valvular vegetations, describes cardiac syphilis, and establishes syphilis as a cause of cardiac aneurysm. The causes and characteristics of aneurysms were the chief interest of Lancisi's long professional life.
