This large compilation of over two thousand pages is a comprehensive listing of medicinal plants and pharmaceutical remedies, arranged alphabetically with many cross references. Manget discusses plant names, medicinal uses, references in other noted authorities, and formulas for compounding various remedies. The work was undoubtedly a valuable reference for the scientific community of his day. The thirty-four plates depict a variety of plants and apparatus used in drug preparation.
