This later edition of Avicenna's Canon was edited by Benedictus Rinius (1485-1565) and translated by Gerardus Cremonensis who is best known for his many translations of such Arabian physicians as Rhazes, Serapion the Elder, Mesuë, and Abulcasis. The version of De viribus cordis in this edition is by Arnaldus de Villanova (ca. 1240-1311) and that of the Cantica by Armengandus Blasii (fl. 1280). The biography of Avicenna was translated by Niccolò Massa (see No. 195). The six woodcuts illustrating the treatment of dislocations were drawn by the famous German artist, Hans Burgkmair.
