This popular handbook of anatomy was first published anonymously in 1682. Its author was Physician-General to the English army. Its popularity required this second, greatly revised and enlarged edition, the contents of which rely heavily upon Spiegel, Diemerbroeck, Thomas and Caspar Bartholin, Charleton, Glisson, Lower, Willis, Harvey, Malpighi, Wharton, Steno, Graaf, and other well-known anatomists.
