The present work is Dionis' commentary on Lancisi's De subitaneis mortibus (see No. 687). Dionis prepared the dissertation because he felt that the subject of sudden death was so important that it should be made known to his many countrymen who did not read Italian. Following his dissertation is the case history of Elisabeth Devigne, age 25, who was afflicted with cataleptic seizures.
