This comprehensive and well-printed early bibliography of medicine is arranged by subject and contains numerous cross references as well as a long and detailed author index. Lipen, a native of Brandenberg, was not a physician but prepared this volume as part of a six-volume series on various aspects of learning dating from the beginning of printing. The earliest bibliography on circulation is found in this volume, which contains some twenty-seven entries including the works of Harvey, Highmore, Primerose, Riolan, and Walaeus.
