This is the first of nine Latin editions of selections from Sydenham's collected medical observations. It is interesting to note that Sydenham prepared his manuscripts in English and then had them translated into Latin for publication in accordance with the tradition of the time. After publication, someone invariably made an English translation of his Latin work.
