Genga has here prepared an edition of those aphorisms of Hippocrates (see No. 1 ff.) which pertain to surgery. He opens the book with a lengthy discourse on the first aphorism. The aphorisms are given in both Latin and Italian with extensive commentary relating the aphorisms to clinical surgery.
