This third edition of the Dispensatory was translated into English by Henry Pemberton (1694-1771), a professor of physic in Gresham College, Fellow of the Royal Society, and one of the best chemists of his time. This edition also contains a lengthy narrative of the deliberations of the committee appointed by the College to review the previous Pharmacopoeia.
