For more information on this author or work, see number: 519

Two years after the Pharmacopoeia Londinensis was published, John Quincy (see No. 712 ff.) issued the first of two editions of his translation of the Pharmacopoeia. His work was simply an annotated translation with notes from his Dispensatory after the English text of the official preparations. The present work is most likely a 1721 reprint of the 1720 edition. The second edition appeared in 1727, some years after Quincy's death.
