In this edition Culpeper argues that every physician should be an astrologer and sets forth the reasons why medicinal plants and herbs are dependent on the movement of the stars. Ebenezer Sibly (1751-1800), another physician-astrologer, began editing the work in 1789, and it continued under his name until the early 1800s. This particular edition has a number of tinted anatomical plates as well as twenty-nine colored plates of various medicinal herbs and plants.
