[Uniform title: Medicina physiologica] Johannes Antonides van der Linden (1609 - 1664) professor of medicine, anatomy, and botany; philologist and philosopher; published books on medical bibliography, physiology, milk, and venereal diseases. He published an edition of Hippocrates' Opera Omnia and an edition of Celsius' De Medicina. Linden was professor of medicine at Leiden from 1651. In this book he quotes from the classic authors, integrating Greek and Latin text, and has a section covering all organs and systems of the body. In 1637, Linden wrote what was at the time of its appearance the most complete medical bibliography yet produced. He issued corrected editions in 1651 and 1662.
