Soon after Browne's death the contents of this book were given to the editor, Archbishop Tenison of Norwich, by Browne's widow and son who felt that Browne likely intended them for publication. The book contains thirteen brief tracts on such subjects as Biblical plants, insects, birds, fish, languages, and bibliography. They were originally written in the form of letters in answer to questions received by Browne from various correspondents.
