For more information on this author or work, see number: 456

The second German edition of this famous work of anatomy and anatomical illustration. This work features three large sheets with layers of moveable flaps showing the respective pieces of anatomy. Unlike similar works of its time, these flap illustrations were published bound between covers rather than as fugitive sheets, which meant they have a higher survival rate today. This popular work was frequently re-translated and re-printed well into the eighteenth century.
