This work, a collection of lectures given by Mercuriale at the University of Pisa, is largely devoted to a history of epidemics based on the writings of Hippocrates. It also contains Mercuriale's remarks on the plague as well as three shorter lectures on conception, the baths and mineral waters of Pisa, and the various qualities of wine and water.
