The present work was originally published in 1572 and also appeared as the second part of the author's work on diseases of the skin, De morbis cutaneis, in the same year. De decoratione inspired the famed Gaspare Tagliacozzi to publish, in 1597, his own classic work on plastic surgery (see No. 379).
