The present work, the first edition of which was published in Latin in 1552 under the pseudonym Euonymus Philiater, treats of chemistry and distilling processes for the purposes of medical treatment. It was a frequently published and frequently translated work. The woodcuts illustrating distilling apparatus are of special interest.
