The text of the Epitome was reprinted many times, sometimes being incorporated in other works, and often accompanied by reengravings of Vesalius' plates. The present work is one of the earliest editions of the Epitome to be published without illustrations. It contains all six chapters of the Epitome as well as the chapter which accompanies the "Adam and Eve" figures in the 1543 edition.
