Vega, a Spanish physician, was an active teacher and professor at the university in his native city of Alcalá de Henares. He is perhaps best known for his commentaries on the works of Hippocrates and Galen. He published a number of commentaries on their works and also wrote his own treatise on medicine--De arte medendi (1564). The present work is his commentary on Galen's work on fevers. A Latin translation of the original Greek work is also included in the volume.
