Like the majority of Guidi's works, this one was published posthumously having, in this case, been compiled and edited by his son. The book deals chiefly with the theory and causes of human illness, disease, and deformities. In this lengthy treatise, Guidi makes frequent marginal references to Galen, Hippocrates, and Aristotle to support his contentions. Although the book is not illustrated, it does contain many finely done wood block initials. Part II is believed to have been printed in 1594.
