This work, published posthumously, is a general text, without illustrations, of internal medicine, with added treatises on the plague, pharmaceuticals, and surgery. All are commented upon and extended by remarks of the editors, Antoine Valet (d. 1607) and Louis Duret (1527-1586). Houllier, a celebrated French physician, was a leader in France of the reaction against Galen and the return to Hippocratic principles.
