Cardano was a voluminous writer whose collected works, published in 1624, fill ten large volumes. They cover a wide range of knowledge and include this little-known work in which Cardano sets forth his maxims for a successful life. This rare first edition was prepared by Gabriel Naudé (1600-1653).
