Complete Record - Heirs of Hippocrates No. 221

JEAN FERNEL (1497-1558) Consiliorum liber. Cui accesserunt responsa quaedam clarorum medicorum Parisiensium. Apud Thomam Soubron, & Moysen des Prez 1597 174 pp. 17.7 cm.

This separate edition of part of Book II of Fernel's Universa medicina (originally titled just Medicina) contains his suggestion that aneurysms had their origin in syphilis. It appears that the publisher of this edition also issued it as part of a complete edition of the Universa medicina published in the same year. Thus his customers could purchase the entire work or individual sections, as they preferred. Apparently the original purchaser of this volume wanted only this section and one other (see No. 223), which he then had bound together.
