This English translation containing Paracelsus' alchemical writings was made from the Geneva edition of 1658 (see No. 215) and contains nearly all of his hermetic treatises on chemistry, philosophy, and medicine. The editor and translator, Arthur Edward Waite (fl. 1890), also included a biographical preface and a useful dictionary of alchemical terms.
