PRINCE ALBERT MORROW (1846-1913) Atlas of skin and venereal diseases. W. Wood 1889 318, iv pp., illus., 75 col. plates. 41.6 cm.

Morrow, one of America's premier nineteenth-century dermatologists, was born in Kentucky and received his medical degree in 1874 from University Medical College in New York. This atlas covering the entire range of dermatological and venereal diseases is his most famous work. The colored plates, selected from the works of a number of prominent artists, effectively supplement the clearly-written text. Morrow was active in stressing the need for dissemination of information on sex hygiene to the public.
