Cohnheim's text on pathology was extremely popular and was perhaps the most influential pathological text of the nineteenth century after Virchow's Cellularpathologie (see No. 1892). A comprehensive and detailed work, it was prepared by Cohnheim from his lectures and includes extensive and up-to-date bibliographies throughout the two-volume set.
