HERMANN SENATOR (1834-1911) Die Erkrankungen der Nieren. Alfred Hölder 1899 [2] viii, 448 pp. 24 cm.
Senator studied at Berlin where he received his medical degree in 1855. In addition to serving as a professor at the university, Senator was also chief physician at the Augusta Hospital and was later a director of the Charité Hospital. Near the end of his career he was director of the University's polyclinic. His study of fever, Untersuchungen über den fieberhaften Process und seine Behandlung (Berlin, 1873), is perhaps his best work. The present wide-ranging work on diseases of the kidneys was later translated into English in 1905.
