Meynert died on the last day of May and the present work was one of the last he prepared. It contains ten lectures on various aspects of the brain and the address Meynert gave upon the death of Rokitansky in 1878. Given between 1868 and 1891, seven of the addresses are published here for the first time. Four had previously been published in the periodical literature.
