Based on Leyden and Goldscheider's continued clinical experience and research into the physiology and pathology of the spinal cord and medulla, they felt that another edition of their book was justified. This greatly expanded edition includes their new research and clinical findings and was published in three parts--the anatomy and physiology of the normal spinal cord, diseases of the spinal cord, and the normal and diseased medulla. The work was published as Volume X of Nothnagel's Spezielle Pathologie und Therapie.
