Each of the two selections in this slim volume had previously appeared in Lippincott's magazine. In the first, Mitchell discusses the importance of good nursing care for those afflicted with chronic or long term illnesses, and the advantages and disadvantages of using family, nonprofessional, and professional nurses. In Camp cure, Mitchell endorses the idea of camping as excellent therapy for some types of nervous disorders and psychosomatic illnesses.
